Hilairy Hartnett is part of a new project that will study hotsprings in Yunnan Province China, near the city of Tengchong. This region hosts one of the largest geothermal fields in China. Over the next 5 years, this NSF-funded project will conduct an integrated study of the geochemistry and geobiology of the hotsprings. It is a collaboration among multiple U.S. universities, including ASU, and with Chinese researchers from universities in Tenchong, Beijing, and Shanghai.
